The formulation and application of tile adhesives

Tile glue, also known as ceramic tile adhesive, is mainly used to paste decorative materials such as ceramic tiles, facing tiles, and floor tiles. Its main features are high bonding strength, water resistance, freeze-thaw resistance, good aging resistance and convenient construction. It is a very ideal bonding material. Tile adhesive, also known as tile adhesive or adhesive, viscose mud, etc., is a new material for modern decoration, replacing traditional cement yellow sand. The adhesive force is several times that of cement mortar and can effectively paste large-scale Tile stone, to avoid the risk of falling bricks. Good flexibility to prevent hollowing in production.

structure

Tile adhesives contain a variety of additives, specifically the functionality of tile adhesives. Generally, cellulose ethers that provide water retention and thickening effects are added to tile adhesives, as well as latex powders that increase the adhesion of tile adhesives. The most common latex powders are vinyl acetate/vinyl ester copolymers, vinyl laurate/ethylene/vinyl chloride Copolymer, acrylic and other additives, the addition of latex powder can greatly increase the flexibility of tile adhesives and improve the effect of stress, increasing flexibility.

In addition, some tile adhesives with special functional requirements are added with other additives, such as adding wood fiber to improve the crack resistance and open time of the mortar, adding modified starch ether to improve the slip resistance of the mortar, and adding early strength agents to make the tile adhesive more durable. Quickly increase the strength, add water-repellent agent to reduce water absorption and provide waterproof effect, etc.

According to powder: water = 1:0.25-0.3 ratio. Stir evenly and start construction; within the allowable time of operation, the position of the tile can be adjusted. After the adhesive is completely dry (about 24 hours later, the caulking work can be carried out. Within 24 hours of construction, heavy loads should be avoided on the surface of the tile. ).

02features

High cohesion, no need to soak bricks and wet walls during construction, good flexibility, waterproof, impermeability, crack resistance, good aging resistance, high temperature resistance, freeze-thaw resistance, non-toxic and environmentally friendly, and easy construction.

03scope of application

It is suitable for the paste of indoor and outdoor ceramic wall and floor tiles and ceramic mosaics, and it is also suitable for the waterproof layer of internal and external walls, pools, kitchens and bathrooms, basements, etc. of various buildings. It is used for pasting ceramic tiles on the protective layer of the external thermal insulation system. It needs to wait for the material of the protective layer to be cured to a certain strength. The base surface should be dry, firm, flat, free of oil, dust, and release agents.

04

surface treatment

■All surfaces should be firm, dry, clean, free from shaking, oil, wax and other loose matter;

■The painted surface should be roughened, exposing at least 75% of the original surface;

■After the new concrete surface is completed, it needs to be cured for six weeks before laying bricks, and the newly plastered surface should be cured for at least seven days before laying bricks.

■Old concrete and plastered surfaces can be cleaned with detergent and rinsed with water. The surface can only be paved with bricks after it is dried;

■The base material is loose, highly water-absorbing, or the floating dust and dirt on the surface are difficult to clean up. You can first apply Lebangshi primer to help the tiles bond.

05

Stir to mix

■Put the TT powder into clear water and stir it into a paste, pay attention to add the water first and then the powder. Manual or electric mixers can be used for mixing;

The mixing ratio is 25 kg of powder plus 6-6.5 kg of water, and the ratio is 25 kg of powder plus 6.5-7.5 kg of additives;

■ Stirring needs to be sufficient, subject to no raw dough. After the stirring is completed, it must be left still for about ten minutes and then stirred for a while before use;

■The mucilage should be used within about 2 hours according to the weather conditions (the crusted surface of the mucilage should be removed and not used). Do not add water to the dried glue before use.

Construction technology Toothed scraper

Apply the glue on the working surface with a toothed scraper to make it evenly distributed and form a strip of teeth (adjust the angle between the scraper and the working surface to control the thickness of the glue). Apply about 1 square meter each time (depending on the weather temperature, the required construction temperature range is 5-40°C), and then knead and press the tiles on the tiles within 5-15 minutes (adjustment takes 20-25 minutes) If the size of the toothed scraper is selected, the flatness of the working surface and the degree of convexity on the back of the tile should be considered; if the groove on the back of the tile is deep or the stone and tile are larger and heavier, glue should be applied on both sides, that is, Apply the glue on the working surface and the back of the tile at the same time; pay attention to retain the expansion joints; after the brick laying is completed, the next step of the joint filling process must be waited until the glue is completely dry (about 24 hours); before it is dry, use Clean the tile surface (and tools) with a damp cloth or sponge. If it is cured for more than 24 hours, the stains on the surface of the tiles can be cleaned with tile and stone cleaners (do not use acid cleaners).

07

Precautions

1. The verticality and flatness of the substrate must be confirmed before application.

2. Do not mix the dried glue with water before use.

3. Pay attention to retain the expansion joints.

4. 24 hours after the paving is completed, you can step into or fill in the joints.

5. This product is suitable for use in an environment of 5°C to 40°C.

The construction wall surface should be wet (wet on the outside and dry on the inside), and maintain a certain degree of flatness. The uneven or extremely rough parts should be leveled with cement mortar and other materials; the base layer must be cleaned of floating ash, oil, and wax to avoid affecting the adhesion; After the tiles are pasted, they can be moved and corrected within 5 to 15 minutes. The adhesive that has been stirred evenly should be used up as quickly as possible. Apply the mixed adhesive to the back of the pasted brick, and then press hard until it is flat. Actual consumption varies with different materials.
