Use HEC Hydroxy Ethyl Cellulose to Thicken Liquid Soaps

In the past few days, students have been troubled by the thickening of liquid soaps. In fact, to be honest, I rarely thicken liquid soaps. However, I have also taught in class that there are many ways to achieve this. The substances and thickening methods introduced today can as an alternative.

characteristic:
HEC Hydroxy ethyl cellulose is also known as macromolecular cellulose (or macromolecular polymer)

The raw material is modified from natural plant fibers and has an excellent slippery feel!
It is a white (yellow) powder, a non-ionic water-soluble polymer compound, which can be used as a thickening agent and a suspending agent
It is easier to operate in hot water than in cold water, it must be kept stirring, and the pH value is maintained above 6, which is easier to dissolve
Usually used in various beauty and cleaning products, it has a touch similar to hyaluronic acid, the finished product is more transparent and has the highest acid resistance

Liquid soap thickening:
Use 1-2% concentration, add 1g of ethyl cellulose to 99g of distilled water and stir, while waiting, please stir it every 5~10 minutes, do not let the powder material settle, until the gel is transparent, then add Mix well in liquid soap.

Cosmetic application:
1. Ethyl cellulose can be used to make transparent colloid, which is generally used in the production of advanced essence, gel, facial mask and shampoo.
2. It can be used as a suspending and thickening agent for cream products to adjust the Q degree and consistency of the cream.

Instructions for use:
1. Hot water is easier to thicken
2. Wait for more than 20 minutes when the cold water thickens, and stir every 5~10 minutes while waiting.
3. Usage rate: 0.5~2% essence; 3~5% gel.
4. PH range: acid-resistant to PH3 and 25% alcohol.
5. Others: will not be affected by other ionic raw materials.
